Fish Gate (Names Changed)
Meaning: suggests the witness of a Christian.
Ministry Name is seeking a move of Holy Spirit to the salvation of all in City Name in the name of Jesus Christ.
Purpose: this gate is for defense.
We can best defend City Name with the faithful preaching of Truth.
Personal aspect: For us, it speaks of evangelism as we have been called to be ‘fishers of men’ (Matt 4:19). It is a natural progression in our Christian life that after seeing that Jesus died for our sins, we would then want to tell others about it.
Ministry Name seeks to make disciples and empower them to go out into the community where they can make disciples.
Prophetic aspect: This gate speaks of the church in the first century (the apostolic era) where believers on fire for God sacrificed all and went out to turn the world upside down with the message of Jesus Christ!
Ministry Name desires to see all in City Name on fire for the Lord and reaching out to the world beyond.
Almost every Biblical mention (by name) of the Fish Gate of Jerusalem involved either corruption of the people of Israel, or the aftermath of it. The reason for that may be because when a society becomes corrupt, the two most public manifestations of that degeneracy involve places of religion e.g. “they set their abominations in the House, which is called by My Name, to defile it” (Jeremiah 32:34 KJV) and business e.g. “which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day?” (Nehemiah 13:16-17 KJV; see also The Blasphemy Calendar).
City Name knows about witchcraft in the churches and corruption in business (and vice versa). This location to deal with the Fish Gate is home to both church and business.
Our Beliefs of this Fish Gate:
- It is a gate to be opened
- We are to request that God send forth the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord
- We also seek a spirit of repentance to fall upon City Name
- We desire to see a great harvest for the Kingdom of God
